The Magic of Sinatra comes to the Granville Arts Center!

Picture
The third annual “Candy and Friends” benefit concert for brain tumor patients was held on September 14, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Granville Arts Center in Garland. That year, “Candy and Friends” presented Paul Salos, a Garland resident, who brought an evening of Frank Sinatra music, accompanied by members of the Celebration Jazz Band from First Baptist Church, Richardson,  and Dallas Christian Jazz Band, under the direction of Kent Tidwell and David Kelley.  Mr. Salos holds the distinction of being a finalist on the hit television talent competition, “America’s Got Talent,” which airs each summer on NBC. Also appearing with Mr. Salos was Breggett Rideau, a Grammy nominated artist.  Proceeds from the concert went to benefit Legacy Brain Foundation of Dallas, a local organization that assisted brain cancer patients and their families. Legacy also was involved in promoting awareness and educating the public about brain tumors, their warning signs, and other issues surrounding the disease. There were also numerous exciting silent auction items available to bid on prior to the concert and during intermission. The evening was truly one of outstanding Sinatra music we all  know and love, and supported an outstanding cause.  It was a magical evening and we raised $10,000 to help brain tumor patients and their families.
